Standard UG & PG

UG – Three bands:

PG – Three bands:

Advance Fees Required
• For most courses at Brunel you need to pay a deposit of £3000. You will need to pay this as soon as possible in order to secure your place on the course.
• You can pay the rest of your fees in one of two ways: o You can get an Early Payment Discount of 2% by paying all your tuition fees either before or at enrolment. (This offer is only open to students who are self funded) o You can pay 60% at enrolment, and the remaining 40% at the start of the Spring term in January. o Brunel Alumni who were classed as full time international students are entitled to a further 10% discount off the cost of their fees.

Advance Fees Refund policy
• Fees are due at the time of Registration and there is no entitlement to any reduction or refund if a student withdraws during the year. The University may exceptionally allow reductions to self-supporting students. Please note that once you enrol, you become liable for fees, even if you subsequently withdraw.

Living expenses
• The average student will need around £7,000 for each year of study to cover their living costs (not including tuition fees). At Brunel, we can help you stick to your budget with great value accommodation and facilities.
• Every student is different, and you should calculate your own budget based on your personal circumstances.
• International students have the opportunity to live on campus in one of Brunel’s halls of residence. Rent rates for are from £90.86 and £115.78 per week for rooms, and £174.02 for studio flats for co-habiting couples (2011 prices). All halls are self-catering, and rent rates include utility bills and a free network connection through which you can access the Internet at no extra cost.
• If you plan to live at home or off-campus you will need to budget for travel costs, and in any case, you will want to travel both within and outside the local area in your free time.

English Language Requirements:

English Language Requirements
• In general, our courses ask for an English level of between IELTS 6.5 and 7.0 or equivalent. Some courses will have a higher requirement and will require you to also reach minimum sub-scores, so please check the course page for the exact level.
• Brunel’s International Pathways and Language Centre (IPLC) provides courses that are designed to meet your individual needs and prepare you for academic success.
• We have two types of English language courses, a year-round progamme, English@Brunel, and shorter intensive Pre-sessional English language programmes, both of which have mutiple start dates.
• Brunel’s English Language Test (BrunELT) provides you with an excellent opportuntity if you would like to apply to Brunel and need to provide evidence of your English level. It is also helps to determine whether you are required to attend an English language course prior to your academic studies. The BrunELT is suitable for you if you are;
• Holding a conditional offer for a place at Brunel University but do not have the required IELTS or TOEFL score,
• If you are holding an IELTS/TOEFL score but have not yet reached the required English entry level for your academic course.

Scholarships:

Scholarships
• The Brunel International Scholarship Programme is an annual award run by the Brunel International office. Its goal is to provide financial support to exceptional students. Scholarship holders will go on to represent Brunel as ambassadors throughout their time at the University.
• The 2012 Scholarships offers 30 regional scholarships of £3000, as well as 8 scholarships of £2000, which are awarded by the Alumni office (for both UG and PG level).
• The closing date for applications is 4pm, GMT 25th May 2012. No applications will be accepted after this date.

Intake Dates:

Most UG and PG courses start in September/October.
• Research courses generally start on the 1st of every month.
• Some Foundation courses start in January
• English language courses run throughout the year. They run from 4 to 38 weeks.
