Planning Learning and Assessment

Development of professional practice skills in a range of teaching and learning contexts and identify areas of improvement in professional practice.

By the end of this course learners should be able to:

  • Plan and prepare teaching sessions linking theory to practice
  • Develop and demonstrate relevant teaching skills
  • Demonstrate a working knowledge of the skills of reflective thinking and action planning to traget improvemetns in professional practice
 

Practice, Reflection and Development

This course is to enable learners to plan, deliver, asses and evaluate a series of learning sessions. To enable learners to evaluate a series of learning sessions.

By the end of this course the learners should be able to:

  • Design a sequence of 10 learning events
  • Evaluate the effectiveness of these learning events
  • Apply the theories & principles of learning and assessment to their own teaching principles

By the end of this course the learners should be able to:

  • Understand a range of techniques and skills for managing the classroom environment
  • Develop better working relationship with other teachers
  • Be able to communicate and influence students and parents in a positive proactive manner
  • Explore how they can deliver lessons in a more practical and creative way
  • Increase their understanding of their own strengths and weeknesses within their role and develop an action plan for further improvement
  • Increase theri ability and confidence in dealing with difficult and testing situations within the classroom
  • Have an enjoyable and useful development exprience

  • Identify how to induct and support new teaching staff
